Dr. Mark Wichman

Dr. Mark Wichman is an orthopedic surgeon with a self-proclaimed mission of giving each patient the same quality of care he would give to a member of his own family. He specializes in treatment of painful joint conditions resulting from work- or sports-related injuries. Dr. Mark Wichman currently works with Aurora Advanced Healthcare, Inc., in the greater Milwaukee, Wisconsin, area, where he has practiced for more than 15 years.

Dr. Wichman earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in 1990 and subsequently completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Northwestern University. After concluding a fellowship in sports medicine at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute, Dr. Mark Wichman returned to Wisconsin to accept the position of Orthopedic Surgeon at Milwaukee Orthopedic Specialists, now known as Aurora Advanced Healthcare. Additionally, Dr. Wichman serves as a Medical Leader at the Aurora Sports Medicine Institute in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, and focuses on minimally invasive treatments and therapies to allow his athlete patients to remain active and playing without pain and to foster quick recovery from injuries.

As a teacher, Dr. Wichman has held the positions of Assistant Clinical Professor of Family and Community Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin and of Associate Clinical Professor in the College of Health Science at Marquette University. He has participated in more than 30 national meetings as a faculty member and panelist and is currently engaged in two clinical projects researching minimally invasive arthroscopic surgical techniques. Several Milwaukee radio stations have interviewed Dr. Mark Wichman regarding sports medicine, and he has appeared in a YouTube Video Series on the subjects of rotator cuff repair and cartilage restoration.

Dr. Mark Wichman is a member of both the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the Wisconsin Medical Society, and he has been a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons for over a decade. Actively affiliated with four area hospitals, he also serves as team orthopedic surgeon for the Milwaukee Admirals hockey team. The doctor is an avid sportsman himself, enjoying a variety of outdoor activities and sports, many with his wife and three sons. Dr. Wichman currently lives in Mequon, Wisconsin, with his family.
