Dr. Mark Wichman is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon in practice with Aurora Healthcare of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he specializes in arthroscopic surgery and Sports Medicine. In addition, Dr. Mark Wichman serves as a team physician for the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League (AHL). This will be Dr. Wichman’s 15th season with the team as Head team physician.
In preparing for the 2017-2018 season, the Admirals began training camp on September 26 at the Kern Center under the guidance of sixth-year head coach Dean Evanson and drew a mix of familiar and fresh faces. Players competing for permanent roster spots on the team included those who played for the team last year as well as offseason acquisitions by both the Admirals and their National Hockey League (NHL) affiliate, the Nashville Predators.
While the team’s top two scorers from last season, Pontus Aberg and Vladislav Kamenev, were absent from camp, returning players included Trevor Smith, Alex Carrier, and Trevor Murphy. Goaltender Anders Lindback, who played for the team from 2010 to 2012, is back with Milwaukee following a stint in Sweden, while 10-year AHL veteran Pierre-Cedric Labrie and former NHL player Bobby Butler were signed in the offseason. Other roster hopefuls included former Canadian juniors and players from Scandinavian professional leagues.
